      <description>Is it possible to configure dtmail (or sendmail) not to use  the&lt;BR /&gt;local user name and local machine name for the "From:" and&lt;BR /&gt;"Reply to:" fields, but some other e-mail address?</description>

      <description>changing the local user can be done for example:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Local user (from /etc/passwd) : udeiters&lt;BR /&gt;Domain: domain.de&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;In /etc/sendmail.cf add these lines:&lt;BR /&gt;O UserDatabaseSpec=/etc/mail/userdb.db&lt;BR /&gt;DMdomain.de&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Create the file /etc/mail/userdb with:&lt;BR /&gt;udeiters:mailname           ulrich.deiters&lt;BR /&gt;ulrich.deiters:maildrop     udeiters&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Convert /etc/mail/userdb with:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;/usr/sbin/makemap btree /etc/mail/userdb.db &amp;lt; /etc/mail/userdb&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Now restart sendmail:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;/sbin/init.d/sendmail stop&lt;BR /&gt;/sbin/init.d/sendmail start&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;After these changes emails for the unix user udeiters will be generated as ulich.deiters@domain.de</description>
