Cron

Running Hp-ux 10.20 on a T600
Empty cron.deny file; no cron.allow file.

An NIS user submits a cron job but cron won't
execute it. A password file user can submit
and execute a cron job. Directory and program
file permissions seem to be okay. nsswitch.conf
file lists files first and NIS second.

Everything seems to work okay on my K460 running HPUX 10.20. I can't seem to find any differences in the configurations betwwen the two machines.

Any suggestions on what to look for ?

Thanks

Hi David,

Do you have a semicolumn at the end of the /etc/passwd file ?

Dan
Have you ever checked wether there really is a crontab for your NIS User? It should reside in /var/spool/cron/crontabs/<USERNAME></USERNAME>
