i would like that rcp works as remsh
with last command i watch remsh connections with initial and final time

do you think that rcp connections in "still logged in" state can fill network resources?

We initiate a script that rcp's lots of files from/ to HP-UX B.11.11 U 9000/800 (remote and local server are identical)
The rcp terminates but we
still get "still logged in" when running last on remote server

The remsh that we do
along with these rcp's works fine and terminates on both sides without
problem.

any ideas what might be causing this?

thanks a lot

hi

Shalom,

Possibly a problem with /var/adm/syslog/wtmp on the target computer.

Maybe a cron script cleared it or the file is to big.

Its not really anything to worry about from the security standpoint. I'd make sure the wtmp file doesn't keep growing until the filesystem gets full.

SEP
