Unable to start Oracle listner

Hi,
I am recieving an error while starting the listner. The error is as follows.
TNS-12547: TNS:lost contact
TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
TNS-00517: Lost contact
HPUX Error: 232: Connection reset by peer

Pls give me your valuable ideas.

Hi,
check your tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora files.
Has the listener started before? If yes, what was changed on the machine (Added DB, changed network ... )?

Hi,

Also check the env variables
ORACLE_HOME
ORACLE_SID
PATH
to include the correct info

Did you check the rights of tnsnames.ora and listener.log ?
