system load and some other questions

Hi everybody

I bought myself HP C3600 Visualize workstation and i will use it for CAD/CAM.

So here are my questions:

1. I ordered free HP-UX 11i v1 media kit and licence from HP.
What i got was 4CDs of HP-UX 11i v1 Mission Critical OE (September 2005) and HP-UX 11i version 1: Application software: HP Visualize and HP 9000 Enterprise servers (June 2006) 4CDs and one DVD.

I installed HP-UX 11i v1 on C3600 but i don't know which OE was installed if i do:
# swlist | grep -i oe
#
It shows nothing.
In installation program i can't select any OE. It just shows HP-UX Basic OS 64-bit.

2. After installation system load is strange HIGH. The system is doing nothing but load is:

# w
9:13pm up 23 mins, 2 users, load average: 3.83, 4.04, 3.27

Load averages: 3.84, 4.02, 3.29

What could be wrong? :-(

check for Mission critical

# swlist |grep -i mission
HPUX11i-OE-MC B.11.11.0312 HP-UX Mission Critical Operating Environment Component

Use glance to monitor for real time activity to decide which processes are running HIGH.

Shalom,

The high load factor issue, if it even comes form HP OS or add in software is probably because your system is not patched properly.

I recommend the latest bi-annual patch package for your OS.

Also note that load factor may not be a problem at all unless there is an actual user response issue.

Hi

# swlist |grep -i mission

shows nothing.

I guess glance is not installed.
# glance
/sbin/sh: glance: not found.

It this the one you are talking about:

GOLDQPK11i(B.11.11.0606.446) Quality Pack Depot for 11i v1, June 2006 ?

OK installed the lastes patches. No problem about high load anymore. Thanks!
