Peter is correct about hosts_to_named not putting any data in the db.cache - but it does create the file. Quoting from Peter's referenced document:

"The hosts_to_named program creates the db.cache file, but does not enter any data into the db.cache file. To add data to this file, copy data from the file /usr/examples/bind/db.cache. You can also use anonymous ftp to obtain the list of root name servers from rs.internic.net."

Pete

The hosts_to_named command will create the necessary db files for you. Do a man on hosts_to_named.

Pete
