Is there anyways I can run Windows and HPux together with any O/S could be virtual.
I've integrity servers. I'm running windows and HPUX seperately and would like to run both O/S on each servers.

thanks

If you can partition your integrity server, either via NPARS or VPARS, then you can run different O/S in each partition.

Pete

I was under the impression that vPAR is only to run multiple HP-UX and not multi-OS.
If this is not the case kindly let me know from where I can get further info on that.

I'm looking for something like vmware type thing for HPUX/Windows.
You are right, vPars is supporting only the same HP-UX version at the same time and in the same system/nPartition.

Even the virtual machines can only run HP-UX 11i v2 at this time.
(from the manual: "Windows, Linux, and OpenVMS guests are not yet supported")

If you have a cell-based system, you can run a different OS in every nPar.

My mistake - I believe you're right:

http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=T1335AC

"vPars enables multiple instances of the HP-UX 11i v1 Operating Environment (OE) to run simultaneously on one server or within one nPartition"

This leads me to believe that only NPARS will help you then.

Pete

There is a concept.

"Integrity Virtual Machines ... Optimizes utilization by offering sub-CPU virtual machines with shared I/O across HP-UX 11i, Linux and other operating Environments in the future (Windows 2003 Server, OpenVMS) with dynamic resource allocation."

http://h71028.www7.hp.com/ERC/downloads/4AA0-5390ENW.pdf (page 6)
