What do you mean "how can I make it work on all c:\* directories?"?

I don't understand what you want to do.

If you mean you want the commands to work everywhere you have to add it too your path.

I use my cygwin (almost) in an "out-of-the box" default setup.

If I start it, I am in my home directory somewhere under c:\cygwin, if I do a "cd /" I'm in C:\ - that's it.

All drives are "mounted" like this btw:

c: on /cygdrive/c
d: on /cygdrive/d
...

Thanks for all the help. I didn't realize that all windows drives are under /cygdrive.

Mission acomplished.

BTW, the reason I try cygwin is my perl 5.8.8 is conflicted with Oracle perl 5.8.3 and Bill Gate's batch commands do not work well either.

Thanks a lot!
