Well,

with 9.2.0.7 out, and you're doing a fresh install, why not just install that one instead of 9.2.0.1 and having to patch your way up?

Also, with some of these installs, as crazy as it seems, there are often patches for the installs to make them work correctly. [ At this point I'd like to say it's really ODD that Oracle ACTUALLY somehow manages to put out media that won't install on an main-stream Enterprise class system. If any of us did something akin to this in our jobs, we'd lose it. But, that's just me ... ]

Make sure you've got the patches installed for that 9.2.0.1 install (and if I remember correctly, you do need them for that version).

Also check to make sure that the user that is going to own oracle has full r/w/x access to that /tmp/Orainstallxxxx directory.

Also, in between retries to load the Oracle install, I prefer to delete all of those /tmp/Orainstallxxxxxxxx directories fully before trying once again.

Shalom,

Possibly your /tmp filesystem is out of space.

Almost definitely you did not set the variable SHLIB_PATH correctly including /usr/lib prior to doing the installation.

This database install goes much better when you precisely follow the instructions in the installation guide.

For success, you need to make sure all pre-requisite software is installed, along with patches prior to beginning.

SEP
