Both 32 and 64 bits are supported. Not a dynamic change. Usually, this is a "done once" change, not something you flip back and forth between 32 and 64.

I would prefer a new installation to go to 64 bit, if possible.

Tom

Hi

If i am not wrong, HP 11.00 will support both 32 and 64 bits.

Can i change 32bit kernel to 64 bit kernel dynamically

or

Can i change it in single user mode by specifing the kernel path? Is there any solution.
or
based on the Hardware is OS install's 64 bit or 32 bit.

Hi:

Yes, 11.x supports both 32-bit and 64-bit environments depending on the hardware.

No, to change from a 42-bit kernel to a 64-bit one, you must either cold-install or do a update.

Yes, you could maintain two boot disks with distinct operating systems. To switch, you would specify the one you wanted via 'setboot' or at boot time by interrupting the boot sequence and interacting with the IPL.

Regards!

...JRF...

Remember to check if your hardware supports 64-bit. Make sure the firmware is at the latest revision.

HTH
Marty

Don't overlook that some boxes will only run the 64-bit version; some will only run 32-bit; but most will run either. In any event, you must reload or upgrade the OS to make the change.
1) No, you cannot change the Kernel like that. You wither have an 'upgrade' OS option of cold-install (the best one)
2) The way is to have two disks with two version of OS. You can change the boot disk path at the Boot menu.
3) HP 11.00 will support both versions in specific systems only. Servers like L, N will not support 32 bit versions
