Hi

The man page of getconf gives lot of information about system. I would like to know the significance of each parameter. The description of parameter are not given in man page. Could any body know the details of thes.

For example to know the system kernel mode.

I have to type getconf KERNEL_BITS.

I know the KERNTEL_BITS, but i have no idea about the rest. Where can i get the info. Can anybody reply on this

I believe man 3c confstr will give you the info you require.

there are a lot of explanation for the other parameters

Look at /usr/include/sys/unistd.h

You should see the description associated with each definition in the comments field.
