EM can not start

Hi,

I have installed Oracle10g on HP-UX 11.i.
First few days I was able to administrate my DB through web based EM.

But now I dont know what has happend,Enterprise manager can not connect to the DB instance.

1) My DB instance is started
2) DBCONSOLE is also started.

I am not able to find out the solution.

after going to http://>machine>:5500/em
do you get a Login to Database:
page? Or do you not get that far?

Hi,

I dont get Login Page, as I was getting previously. It directly redirects me to control page, where DB instance Arrow(Red) is down.But Listener and Agent Arrow(Green) are UP.

Darshan,
so the cookies still have your login details.
To get the login screen back, you can clear your cookies.
However, if you get the control page, what happens if you ask for the DB to be started?
What error message do you see?

Hi,

Whenevr I try to login Unix through EM I get below error.

"IOException in reading Response :: Broken pipe"

I am not able to login to Unix through EM.
what must be the reason??

There is another error I get, whenever I try to start my DB through EM.

"Connection Reset"

Hi Yogiraj,

Normally I restart EM service with
$ ./emctl start dbconsole

But I would like to know for what is the function of below command?

$ ./emctl start agent

hi Darshan,

Oracle "DBconsole": "emctl start dbconsole" (This will start the dbconsole and agent)

Oracle EM Grid Control "OMS": "emctl start oms"

Oracle EM Grid Control "Agent": "emctl start agent"

Oracle AS "ASControl": "emctl start iasconsole"
