Hi Krish,

Check /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log for any messages about telnetd. Also, try to start inetd in logging mode, # inetd -l

It should be helpful to nail down the issue further. /etc/pam.conf in my system is

#ll /etc/pam.conf
-r--r--r-- 1 root sys 1546 Feb 1 09:27 /etc/pam.conf

zero byte could be an issue.

-Arun

My machine suddenly lost the telnet sessions. I am able to login in sigle user mode
When checked found that pam.conf file was zero bytes. I think that is causing the trouble. What might be the reason? Any idea.
Appreciate any inputs on this.
