Hello All,

I have 7 hpux servers that all were in a subnet, we promoted 4 of the servers to production and the networking folkes moved it to a different subnet.

Ever since I am unable to connect to the 4 servers via x-windows. I was able to connect to all when they were in the same subnet.

Networkers have all ports open on the firewall and I can telnet to the 6000 port on my PC from the production server and from my PC can query the 177 udp port.

I came accross this post and have done everything in it, unfortunately it wasnt conclusive:
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=950134
Please help!!

Hello Steve;

thanks for your response, I use winaxe + for my connection.

The /var/dt/Xerrors file is empty for the four production servers that I have the issue on.

Ping -ov from the production server to the development servers work, but does not work from the development to the production servers that are now in a different subnet. Normal ping and telnet works across both servers???

nslookup resolves perfectly on my PC, dev servers and production. So thats not an issue.

Could you point me to how to tunnel X with ssh please in case I cant make any headway?

thanks

Hello,

Take a look at /opt/ssh/etc/sshd_config for x11 forwarding, ( I dont remember the exact parameter name, no VPN from home :-(). Or, you can use Putty for SSH connection, it has got options for X11 forwarding thro SSH.

-Arun
