Hi there,

Is it possible to run fbackup to a SDLT on version 11.0 of HPUX?

Any patches required?

Darren,

I believe it should be possible. I'm running SDLT's on 11i and I think, with recent HWE bundles installed, you should be able to do so on 11.0 as well.

This machine has only Sept 2001 patches so I know Im going to have to patch it quite a lot :-(

Any idea on the patches? or the latest patch bundle should do the trick

Hi,

Latest patches shall be enough. Allthough some of these may require old patches upon which they are depending upon. These you will be able to find when doing a analyzation.

The bundles are cumulative so the latest one should be sufficient.

I was hoping for a individual patch (and its relevant dependancies) as I am not sure if the customer can upgrade the os a great deal

Any ideas?

Please check availibility of drive through "ioscan". fbackup is available on 11.0, so there does not seem to be any problem

The latest - and quite possibly the last -
SCSI Tape driver (stape) patch for 11.00 is PHKL_29898.
These tape diver patches update the header
file /usr/include/sys/mtio.h. So you can always check this to see if it contains
support for the SDLT type of drive.
