Shalom Francisco,

I believe the error message may be because nothing is plugged into the Fiber channel card.

Why not try plugging it into a fiber network or something and see if the behavior continues.

The card is claimed, which means most likely everything is okay. To be certain, perhaps fire up mstm, cstm or xstm and run the excercize utility on the cards.

I find it difficult to believe that the cards have failed, but stranger things can happen.

Also, have you installed drivers for these cards? If not, this may explain why the kernel is having trouble talking to them. The drivers for these cards are on the Core OS DVD, and probably on the Application Cd's as well.

SEP

Hi,

These messages appears if the already connected FC HBA connection is removed. Second possibility could be un-mapping of device in switch/fabric environment which was mapped earlier through the FC HBAs.

Refer following doc for details and workaround depending on the current situation at your site.

http://www2.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/docDisplay.do?docLocale=en_US&docId=200000079998883

http://www2.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/docDisplay.do?docLocale=en_US&docId=200000080070817

Hi
As result of ioscan command, the hardware seems okay.
Can you check by Support Tool Manager for these HBA? (cstm or xstm)
Can you reboot the server? I have faced with this trouble long time ago and the error disappear when reboot the server...

Regard,
Hoang Chi Cong
