Problem with vparmodify

I need add one IO for vpar3b, but show messages:

vparmodify -p vpar3b -a io:1.0.0.3.0.6.0.0.0.0.0.0.0:ALTBOOT
vparmodify: Error: "-a io:1.0.0.3.0.6.0.0.0.0.0.0.0:ALTBOOT": Resource already assigned to another virtual partition.

Shalom Jose,

A holiday is rapidly arriving in the US possibly limiting your responses. Please be patient.

The error message seems self explanatory to me. The resource is already assigned to another virtual partition.

See the other parition and perhaps release the resource.

Bound CPU's stay with the vpar, no matter what. Unbound ones can be moved around. There are rules for i/o resources as well.

Soon you'll get experienced help with this.

Do a

vparstatus -v

and search for your disk.
You'll find the partition it is assigned to.

vparmodify -p vpar3b -a io:1/0/0/3/0.6.0.0.0.0.0.0:ALTBOOT

This resource is IO.

All vpars are ready,

vparmodify -p vpar5a -d io:1.0.0

Then

vparmodify -p vpar4a -a io:1/0/0/3/0.6.0
