I have installed recently Oracle 8.1.7.0.0 on an HP/UX 11.0 machine, and I have received the follwing error in the alert.log.

ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [10] [2013216496] [0] [1456] [] []

The problem is that I cannot connect to the Database using SQLplus, but I have to shutdown abort and restart the Database.

Any relation with the memory of HP?

Do and "Advanced Search" in Metalink with "and with the exact phrase":

core dump [10]

There are lots of situations, may be one is similar to yours...
