      <description>Hello,&lt;BR /&gt;I set NFS_CLIENT and NFS_SERVER variables in /etc/rc.config.d/nfsconf to 1 and I execute nfs.client command.&lt;BR /&gt;I get the following output:&lt;BR /&gt;sbin/init.d/nfs.client start &lt;BR /&gt;    starting NFS CLIENT networking &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;    starting up the rpcbind &lt;BR /&gt;        rpcbind already started, using pid: 802 &lt;BR /&gt;    starting up the BIO daemons &lt;BR /&gt;        /usr/sbin/biod 16 &lt;BR /&gt;    starting up the Status Monitor daemon &lt;BR /&gt;        /usr/sbin/rpc.statd &lt;BR /&gt;    starting up the Lock Manager daemon &lt;BR /&gt;        /usr/sbin/rpc.lockd &lt;BR /&gt;    starting up the Automount daemon &lt;BR /&gt;        /usr/sbin/automount -f /etc/auto_master &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;NFS server (pid17691@/net) not responding still trying &lt;BR /&gt;NFS server (pid17691@/net) not responding still trying &lt;BR /&gt;NFS server (pid17691@/net) not responding still trying &lt;BR /&gt;NFS server (pid17691@/net) not responding still trying &lt;BR /&gt;NFS server (pid17691@/net) not responding still trying &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I try to set AUTOMOUNT variable to 0 and I heve started the daemons successfully.&lt;BR /&gt;Can somebody tell me where is the problem?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Ok, stop the nfs client, and restart it.  Then when you get the NFS server not respond, grep for the PID that it shows and let us know what it is.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Also try adding a comment line to the auto_master file and verify that it truly is empty.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Then start the automounter and see if you get the same problem.&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Did you reboot after setting automount to 0?  Did you set AUTOFS=1?  If you set AUTOFS=1, then your automounter is still running as the new daemon (automound) does not stop with simply stopping the script.    Also, ensure that /etc/auto_master is empty, and that it has not been re-created by the system.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards,&lt;BR /&gt;Shannon</description>

      <description>Just my 2 cents worth, but you didn't make a copy of /etc/rc.config.d/nfsconf in the /etc/rc.config.d directory did you? If so init will still source it (the old one) on reboot.</description>
