Hello,
I've installed wdb 2.1 on one system to debug a oracle generated core file. But when I try to debug it, I receive the following error:

warning: File not processed by pxdb--about to process now.

Error opening: /opt/oracle/bin/oracle for read/write.
PXDB aborted.

and it generates another core file in the end!

Make sure you have the latest pxdb patches...

11.0 - PHSS_20122
10.20 - PHSS_17545

Thanks Sam, but I cannot install the patch for HP-UX 11!! It does not recognize the latest version of wdb!

the following is the output of swinstall:

NOTE: The fileset "PHSS_20122.DEBUG-PRG,r=1.0" is a "sparse" or
"patch" fileset which may only be installed upon a previously
installed base fileset. The specification for the required
base fileset is "DebugPrg.DEBUG-PRG,fr=B.11.01.06,v=HP".
Since there is no fileset on the target or selected from the
source which matches this pecification, fileset
"PHSS_20122.DEBUG-PRG,r=1.0" will be excluded.
* Executing preDSA command.
xx xx * Summary of Analysis Phase
xx * 1 of 1 filesets will be Skipped.
xx * The Analysis Phase succeeded.

The version of that fileset I have, is B.11.11.02

OK, sounds like you're running HP-UX 11i for which there is no equivalent pxdb patch. The fixes in PHSS_20122 should have been incorporated in the 11i DebugPrg.DEBUG-PRG B.11.11.01. So this may be an unknown problem. You might want to report this to the Response Center if you don't get an answer here.
