Hi,
I'm newer to oracle.
I need to upgrade oracle 8.1.7.0.0 to oracle
8.1.7.4.0
Where can I download this patch?
I have a HP-UX 11.11 system.
I have a metalink account
Please help me,

Go to metalink.oracle.com

2.login into metalink

3.click patches on the left side

Then,"simple search"

search by --->product/family
click on the torch like icon--view all-->Oracle database family

Release-->8.1.7
Patch type--->patch set/Minipack

select the OS type-->64 bit

Then from the list you can get

Oracle Database Family: Patchset
8.1.7.4 PATCH SET FOR ORACLE DATA SERVER

Quote/
"Note:If you are running 32 bit Oracle on 64 bit OS then choose download of 32 bit platform"

To check whether oracle is 32 bit or 64 bit

Just do a
svrmgrl

That should give you 64 bit or 32 bit

As you have support, http://metalink.oracle.com.

1. Click on the Patches button.
2. Click on the "New Metalink Patch Search".
If you are not on the "Simple Search" screen, click on the "Simple Search" button.
3. Input the bug number on the "Search by Patch Number" box. ( here u can select by "product " and say in box "RDBMS server "
4. Click Go.
5. Select the patch for the appropriate product version.
6. Select the appropriate platform.
7. Click Download.
You can ccheck for all the appropriate options in the DRAG boxes there.

bcoz, u have to input Hp Itanium, PA-RISC (34 bit ya 64 bit e.t.c also.

Andrea,

I suggest you creat a TAR and request the patch on CD.
I never managed to download such a big patch.
