      <description>This is setup in whatever database you are connecting to.  Before you start SQLPLUS you have to set an environment variable with the name of the DB you want to connect to.  The user name and password will be set up in the database.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You can *not* effectively use SQLPLUS without connecting to a database.&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;BR /&gt;1-The DBA will be able to tell you which instance and what username/password to use .&lt;BR /&gt;2-test if the client is configured to connect to the instance by  using tnsping utility.&lt;BR /&gt;3-invoke sqlplus with the username/password and the connect string.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Cheers!</description>
