VTD-0123 / VTD-10000 ORACLE Perfomance Manager

Hi to all,

Enterprise Manager Console and DBA Studio are working fine. When I start Performance Manager though I get the following error messages:

VTD-0123 Error connecting to ... and
VTD-10000 unsupported character encoding ...

Both errors aren't listed in the documentation around.

Anyone any clues?

Thanks, but this applies to the situation that the instance is not found (ora-12154.

My second error is:
VTD-10000 unsupported character encoding ...

So I think the connection to the instance has been made.

What is your character set?
Try doing a
$ export NLS_LANG=AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8ISO8859P1

This is a problem with your present character set.If you are running 8.1.x oracle version then this is a part of

Bug:1657159

AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8ISO8859P1 is a supported character set for Oracle data gatherer.

The NLS_LANG =

DUTCH_THENETHERLANDS.WE8DEC

I'm starting the PM from NT4 and the instances are on HP-UX.

I'm puzzled how PM gets his NLS_LANG, and how can I change that without messing with my instances?

check

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE--->software--->oracle

check for the NLS_LANG there

Also open

control panel--->system-->advanced--->environmental variables--

delete NLS_LANG from there

Sorry, for this late response. I was on a short holiday.

I've put NLS_LANG key of AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8ISO8859P1 in the register and deleted the NLS_LANG in the environment.

Still the same message!
