    <description>Hi to all,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Enterprise Manager Console and DBA Studio are working fine. When I start Performance Manager though I get the following error messages:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;VTD-0123 Error connecting to ... and&lt;BR /&gt;VTD-10000 unsupported character encoding ...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Both errors aren't listed in the documentation around.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Anyone any clues?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;TIA&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;John Destreel&lt;BR /&gt;The Netherlands</description>

      <description>Thanks, but this applies to the situation that the instance is not found (ora-12154.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;My second error is: &lt;BR /&gt;VTD-10000 unsupported character encoding ...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;So I think the connection to the instance has been made.</description>

      <description>&lt;BR /&gt;This is a problem with your present character set.If you are running 8.1.x oracle version then this is a part of &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Bug:1657159&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8ISO8859P1 is a supported character set for Oracle data gatherer.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>The NLS_LANG =&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;DUTCH_THENETHERLANDS.WE8DEC&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I'm starting the PM from NT4 and the instances are on HP-UX.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I'm puzzled how PM gets his NLS_LANG, and how can I change that without messing with my instances?</description>

      <description>Sorry, for this late response. I was on a short holiday. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I've put NLS_LANG key of AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8ISO8859P1 in the register and deleted the NLS_LANG in the environment.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Still the same message!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Could someone send me the related bug 1657159&lt;BR /&gt;from metalink&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;TIA</description>
