I've asked to HP support.
Is not necessary to buy additional licenses, because for old HP9000 server, software was licensed for tier (nr. of SPUs) and not for CPUs.

Davide

Hi,

With your current configuration, officially you should get the additional licenses (since only 1 SPUs).

You can proceed to add the CPU, as far as i know the additional license needed for HP-UX 11.X.

Hope this information can help you.

Cheers,
AW

Oracle is licenses per cpu
As is HP-UX utilities.

To be legal, you must purchase.

SEP

Also you would not have been able to buy new licenses as 10.20 has long since been obsoleeted!

I would say the upgrade to newer HW and OS is long overdue.

Regards,
Trond

One new dual core CPU chip (2 cores) will exceed the performance of your K360 with four CPUs, and HW support will like be a big savings. You would have to move to 11.11 however. HP-UX 10.20 was sold per node only, and was not licensed per CPU, as is the case with 11.11.
