Hi Everybody

I plan to install Oracle 9iR2 RAC on HP-UX 11iv2. I have two rx2620 servers, each of them has two FC adaptor. Also there are two San switches and an EVA 4000. Does it neccessary to buy HP-UX secure path for this scenario or MC Service Guard can handle multipathing to Storage?

Alireza

Serviceguard does not handle or control multipathing to storage.
That is done by the relevant Storage Management software, such as VxVM, LVM, etc.
The LVM alternate path is for failover. If you have more than on path, it does not do load balanancing per say. While secure path is load balance + failover.

MCSG has nothing to do with both.

Hello
You can also use the autopath which i think is free from HP.Even you will see the disk with many paths but configure one path and add rest of the paths through PV links.
Ciaaooo
