There are two free packages 'mkisofs' and 'cdrecord' wich cdrecord seems to be the most popular.

Do a search on google.com to find download sites.

Hi Manuel,

I've installed 'mkisofs' for creating cd's with RockRidge format. It creates an image which can be written on cd at a pc.

Here you can download it:

It's not for burning cd's at UX!
And you need the patches for reading RockRidge format at UX.

It was the best solution for me because I've no cd- or dvd-burner at UX.

I've used mkisofs to create ISO image files that I've (for lack of a CD/DVD burner on my HP-UX system) transfered to a windoz PC and burned my image there.

mkisofs is in the application bundle (June2002-Appl in this case) Then go to view -> change software view -> Start with products

and go to the bottom and look for XcdRoast

Install this and you will have the CD burning software

Has anyone found out if mkisofs can support bootable images over 4Gbytes? This is an outstanding issue for which I've been waiting for a solution for a long time.
