      <description>I commented finger service to the inetd.conf file and to take affect i tried ti restart inetd kill -HUP PID but I can give again finger.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Is the correct way to reset it?&lt;BR /&gt;Is anything elese to take in consideration.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>usually kill -1 or -HUP should work, but at least on HP-UX inetd -c is the official way and definitely works.</description>

      <description>Do you mean you can stil finger this host from remote machines like finger user@thishost. Because disableing this service does not affect the local finger command, only the remote finger service is disabled...</description>
