Hi:

If I understand your question correctly, the installation of Online JFS touches kernel filesets and requires a kernel regeneration. Hence a reboot is required.

Installation of ONlineJFS does require your system to be rebooted.

....apart from JFS 3.3 where the base and online products are contained in the same binary. Here you just need to use swinstall to enter the codeword and vxenablef to enable the license.

As you've already been told, the reboot is a normal part of the install process for online JFS.

Is that what you were asking, or could you clarify the question a little more?
