Most printers accept AUTO as the spooler name for their queue. I'm not sure if yours does, but try to create a remote que.

The remote host will be the printer IP address.
The remote queue will be "AUTO".

I have found that some printers are case sensative for the queuename (textroniks), so make sure to try with all caps.

Sincerely,
Shannon

I am really scratching my head over this one.

We have HP9000 w/11.X HPUX
we are using EZ spooler, we have a networked Epson printer, I can ping it but I can not get SAM to talk to it when using sam to add the printer it gives me an error saying that it can not make a conection to the printer to add it to the list, and the whole time I can ping the printer. This is long before it is added to ez spooler any Ideas ????

Thanks Charlie

Hi Charlie,

Unless the Epson's network I/F is an HP I/F, SAM won't see it.
You'll have to set it up as a remote printer - not a network printer.

Rgds,
Jeff
