Hi Steve

Do you have a mirror copy that you can boot from ?

To search for ipl on the disk interupt the boot sequence,

sea ipl <HW path="">

I have found a doc with a similar error but with status=4. This relates to a bad core I/O board.

I think you may need to call for an engineer

HTH

Steve

</HW>

Steven,
error code -4 means hw errors or unbootable media. Warn C7F0, according to manual, means "An error occurred reading IPL".
It is not good that disk's led is always on. This may mean that either disk is bad or something wrong on the SCSI bus. The difference is that if you have disk's led turned on solid after you try to access it (not just after powerup) this means that disk goes to unconscious state looping, for example, doing recovery routines. In this case more suspectible is disk. If you have disk's led solid on just after powerup I would suspect either disk or SCSI bus (another disk on the bus, SCSI contoller etc). If this is contractual system please call HP.
In this situation you should have ignite tape or mirror copy of your boot disk
Eugeny
thnx already for the responses.

The bootdisk isn't mirrored :(

I called hp support and i hope
that our ignite backups are in good
shape :)

I'll keep you informed.

Stay tuned.

Steven

hi again,

I missed me from account
with the previous post. :)

Well the problem was the bootdisk.
The hp engineer replaced it ,
i restored over the lan the latest
ignite image and the system was
back to normal.

thnx for the responses.

Steven

I know this doesn't help too much now. In the below link there is a document on K class error codes that meybe helpful in the future.

http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/components/FileAttachment/0,,0x1f8e84534efbd5118ff40090279cd0f9,00.htm
