Hi Francisco

My memory recalls (going back 3-4 years) that the amdsp -i command has been replaced with arraydsp

http://docs.hp.com/en/B2355-90691/arraydsp.1M.html

HTH

Steven

Could you go with these steps;

Running Information Tool in Menu Mode
1. At the system prompt:
â Type mstm
â Select Ok
2. To select the desired disk array:
â Scroll down using the arrow key, select the A5277A Array
â Press <ENTER>.
3. To run the Information Tool and display the Information log:
â From the Menubar, select Tools
â Select Information
â Select Run. The Information Tool builds and displays the Information log.
â Select Done when done viewing the log
4. To view the Activity log:
â From the Menubar, select Tools
â Select Information
â Select Activity Log
â Select Done when done viewing the log

you have to see something in log!!!</ENTER>

hi,

The fc60's have always had trouble

has the array been working? or newly connected?
if it was working you should have messages in the logs about connection loss.

do a full #ioscan to see if the array is picked up. You will get that error if its not been seen.

if it is then re-create the device files
#insf -e

then try your amdsp -i again.

failing that its worth a reboot to try and pick it up.
if its newly connected then you need to connect the sc10's up and power them up first for 5 mins and then power up the fc60 and leave for 5 mins to scan the arrays. then do your ioscan or reboot the server

andy

hi,

I would try a full system ioscan without the class option

#ioscan

that way you should see the controller(s) depending if its a dual controller fc60

if you dont see the controllers then stop and start the armgr/am60srvr deamons manually.

without the controllers in ioscan then the commands wont run.

then check cable connections and even change the MIB's around(the small 9pin to fc adapter on the fc60). I had a faulty MIB on one of ours and that caused it not to be detected

you are right as far as I know to use the amdsp commands
amdsp for am60srvr fc60/va's type arrays
arraydsp for hparray for m12h type arrays

Andy

Do what I did, ditch the FC60, buy a nice big set of fast SCSI cards, and hook them up directly to the SC10s. FC60's are available used for, like $3 (kidding, but just barely).

arraydsp is for HP AutoRAID .. amdsp is OK for FC60..

When this happens I usually swee the AM60svr consuming 100% CPU.. I've found that stopping the /sbin/init.d/hparraymgr stop; hparmgr stop; diagnostics stop; kill off AM60svr thenrestart the above usually does the trick...

This problem I believe has vaious patches... ask HP support for help on this.

Regards

Tim
