    <description>All the applications rely on the default setting of the NLS_DATE_FORMAT.&lt;BR /&gt;So changing the parameter should be a advisable one.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;What is the need for changing this parameter.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;It is safe to change it on the session level.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;To change it at a session level&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;sql&amp;gt;alter session set NLS_DATE_FORMAT='....';&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Else you can add it in the init&lt;INSTANCENAME&gt;.ora file&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;NLS_DATE_FORMAT='...'&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks&lt;/INSTANCENAME&gt;</description>
