topic 'AWK' command error - TOSTRING Function in Operating System - HP-UX

Hello All,

We had an MC/ServiceGuard package fail-over yesterday afternoon, and the error message within the package log started with:

AWK: Internal software error in the TOSTRING function on PATH.

The source line is 1

Initialisation Error.

This error seems to have caused an MC/ServiceGuard monitor script to return a zero value on checking for available paths to SAN (EMC) disk, thus causing a fail-over.

Its a strange one, and I still need to check if the AWK binary core-dumped, which I can pass on to HP Support.

Any ideas?

Andrew Austin.
