I was reading a thread on checking system memory that referenced the ftp site:
ftp://hprc.external.hp.com/memory.htm
When I went there I was asked for a password. Mu HP-RT user ID didn't work. Is there a guest account or do I need special permission.
Thanks.

The login Olivier refrences will give you access to some things, however, the FTP site is often used to transfer files on a case by case basis where the RCE will set up a temporary, private FTP directory for a customer to pass data back and forth.
Thank you both for the info.

I didn't find the link to memory.htm but I did find a ton of good info on the FTP site. There are a number of presentations in there on UNIX, HP-UX, awk, and the like. Are these presentations proprietary or can I share them with other people I work with?

They can be shared as long as you are not taking credit for them (i.e. you can share them as is).

They were contributed by various HP engineers over the years.
I'm going to use them as a training tool for some younger engineers but I will make it clear that the information came from the HP IT Resource Center and were written by HP engineers. Thanks again.
Kudos to all the HP guys working on the HP ITRC. It is an invaluable tool for HP-UX.

And just so you know, the reason that the URL does not show the login and password is that IE recently (a couple of years ago) silently drops the login:password when displaying the location. You can bookmark the location but the login and password will be hidden. This is the complete URL:

ftp://contrib:9unsupp8@hprc.external.hp.com/

If you click on this, it will connect immediately and you can bookmark it for instant login again. But when you recall it or look at the properties, IE will hide the login/passwird for security. I picked that login/password several years ago when we setup the FTP site at the HP Response Center in Atlanta. All of the presentations have been made at various user group meetings (HP World included) but are getting fairly dated (some 10.xx info, little 11.11 info).
