pvdisplay -v |grep -i stale

Will list you the stale mirrored extends. If it is in large number I would suggest you to immediatly register a HP support call with Response Center, rather waiting for other options.

Sudeesh

Hi,

One error or more errors ? If you have several errors, change the disk for a new one.

If you need more info on how to remove/add the disk, please add info about your system.

What kind of disk (internal/external) ?
what kind of system and hpux version ?
mirrored ?
lvm/vxvm ?

Regards,
Robert-Jan

This is an external disk, to my knowledge it has the mirrored version on it. The same error is appearing multiple times. It is HPUX 11. or 11.i (off the top of my head).

good question from Sudeesh, I am having the impression you have a spare disk (right) ?

If not call your support services and have them replace the disk.

Robert-Jan

Hi,

#strings /etc/lvmtab

Will let you know the VG which resides on this disk. &

#lvdisplay -v /dev/thatvg/lvol* |more
will give you the lvols which are spread on that disk & wheather they are mirroed or not.

HTH,
Devender

Thanks guys, called HP and they will be replacing the disk. They said it is a Fibre attached disk. Would this require an outage do you know? I mean the system to be shutdown or would it be hot swappable?
