I have a B2000 machine running HP-UX 11.0. The system crashed and became unbootable because of a power failure. I attempted to recover the file systems using the install/recovery CD but I got the message "Bad super block; image number wrong". So I assumed my only option is to reinstall the OS.
Now on reinstall it seems it cannot file the hard drive. After system boots off of the CD and starts the "HP-UX installation/recover process", the hardware summary shows "Disks: 0" and then it says "There were no disks found during the IO scan..."

Does anybody know how to get the system know about the hard drive? I really appreciate any help!

Ed

Hi Ed (again)

while booting (powering on) after goes thru BIOS process, system asks you to "press any key within 10 second". you just press any key this takes you to "main menu" From main menu issue the command "boot pri" asks you to interact with ISL (y/n)? say yes, from ISL prompt issue the command
ISL> hpux -iS which takes you to maintenance (single user)mode.
But in your case since the system is not finding Harddisk drives, you can't get into this mode.
