I had heard that it is possible to distribute proccess by procesor on HP/UX.
It is that true ?
Witch software is necesary to install ?

Hi Juan:

Yes ! You need to have the VPAR (virtual partioning enabled on the system). Another program for processor management is PRM ( Process resource Manager).

I don't know if Oracle has a similar capability or not, but Informix uses process affinity to bind to processors. Take a look for "processor affinity". I did a quick search of the forums but couldn't find anything particular to Oracle.

If you are asking about VPAR, then NO ! VPAR is supported on L3000 (Required firmware version: 41.02.), N class (Required firmware version: 41.02) and Superdome ( not supported in first release, planned for future support). See this for more information:

In the case of PRM, yes you can install and use it on your system.
