On a Trusted 10.20 system, a user enters invalid password 3 (or whatever) times at Lockscreen prompt (as opposed to login). If root re-activates account (remotely) the user is still not allowed to enter correct password.
Only way round it that I have found is to kill users dtsession process or to reboot the machine! Is there a more elegant solution?

Hi ,

Can you get the sys admin to enter the root password at the CDE screenlock .... what happens ?

what patch level are you running with :I'm thinking CDE,SAM,passwd, PAM levels in particular ....

Is there more than 1 user on this system with uid 0 ?

Other work-arounds : <CRTL><SHIFT><BREAK> will kill the Xserver on the local console ... not much better .... /sbin/init.d/dtlogin.rc stop or drop the run-level ....... affects all users though ....

not had time to test this it maybe a known issue cured by correct patching : do you see this on other O/s ?</BREAK></SHIFT></CRTL>
