Need some help with a simple question. We have an (reasonably recent) instance of OpenView running, and received the patch for Oracle from our current 9.2.0.4 to 9.2.0.6. Looking in the documentation I could not find any problem, but would apreciate if somebody could confirm this for me:
Is there any special step that I should do for this upgrade in addition the procedure described in Oracle's documentation?
Platform details:
HP-UX 64 bits 11.11
1GB RAM
2GB virtual RAM
You are woefully short of RAM for running Oracle.

I know of no additional procedures other than those on Oracle's metalink site http://metalink.oracle.com for doing this upgrade.

I've done this upgrade on 11i v1.

SEP

Just make sure the 9.2.0.6 release is supported with your version of OpenView. I'm not up on the current support requirements, but in the past OpenView often needed particular Oracle releases to be supported. Whilst it may actually work, you may find HP will not support you if you run into problems down the line.

Check on http://openview.hp.com for full support details.

Hi,

Yes, there is a very important step:

1 - do it on a Test environment
2 - Test it and if it is approved:
3 - Backup Production environment ($ORACLE_HOME in this case)
4 - Apply the patch on Production environment

Best Regards,

Eric Antunes
