Running hpux in a vpar didn't require any kernel changes here, so it won't require any kernel changes to back it out. Bring up your systems without the vpar software running, and then remove it.

Hi, folks.

Because of business needs we are removing vPar software from one of our boxes.

I would like to know if there are any kernel changes other than getting the vPar libraries removed...

Thanks,

Xavier.

A fairly easy way to tell is to run swremove and try and remove it. Before doing anything it will say something about having to reboot due to a kernel change. At that point you could cancel. If it doesn't do this there aren't any kernel changes.

David

There should be no changes to make.
see page 111 of http://docs.hp.com/en/6018/T1335-90031.pdf for removing the vPars software

If you don't start vpmon, then vpar's isn't running. You simply start hpux like you would on any other box. If you have it auto booting, then you will need to adjust it to boot hpux and not vpmon.

As David has pointed out you can "remove" it, but it's not necessary.

live free or die
harry d brown jr
