Hi,

I have a problem where I am attempting to print to a 4200 laserjet - I configure the panel on the printer to print tray 2, when I print through Unix the printer requests load paper to tray 1.

how do you configure tray 2 as default?

Thanks

Unless this is a dedicated printer (not shared by any other users either from the HP system or PCs, don't change the front panel as it messes up everyone else. Just use the -o options as listed in the man page: net_ljx000

If you don't have this man page, your printer is probably connected through some Windows box someplace and you'll have to prepend each print job with the escape sequences necessary to select tray 2.

If the printer is connected via an HP built-in LAN card, download the latest version of HPPI and reinstall the printer as a network printer so all the options shown in net_ljx000 will work.
