Hi Stanimir,

I believe you'll need a java home setting such as:

export JAVA3_HOME=/opt/java1.3
or
export JAVA4_HOME=/opt/java1.4

before you run the installer.

HTH,
Jeff

Hi Stanimir,

On solaris, the solution could be try running the Installer again with NO_J2D_DGA=true set in the environment.
I don't know if that's the solution for HP-UX issues.
Please read the install guide carefully. Check your JAVA settings and swap space.
Please give feedback.

Cheerio,

Renarios

Hi,

may be some fonts are missing.
The DUMP says it is using JAVA 1.3.
You have a JDK or a JRE installed ?
I think a JDK is required.

Set JAVA_HOME to your 1.3 Version directory.

If this does not help, browse Oracle CD 1 for the font subdirectory and try

JAVA_FONTS=path to font dir on Oracle CD

This helped me to install Oracle on a Solaris box without full X11 Installation.

Volker

Hi Stanimir,

The error message that you had experienced,
â Unexpected Signal : 11 occurred at PC=0xc38b2911
Function name=JNU_GetEnvâ

is due to the BUG 3993005.

Oracle support has the diagnostic analysis as â customers are receiving this error only for the HP Itanium patch.

From the BUG it appears to be caused by a problem with the JRE software on the CD

To fix this one should execute the following steps:

1. Change the JRE_LOCATION in oraparam.ini to /opt/java1.3
2. Start OUI 2.2.0.14 to install the 9.2.0.2 software

Alternatively:

1. Download OUI 2.2.0.18 (patch 2878462) or the 9.2.0.4 patchset (patch 3095277) from Metalink
2. Start OUI 2.2.0.18 to install the 9.2.0.2 software

Hi Stanimir,

I only installed Oracle 9.2.0.6 on my HP-UX systems. According the install guide on those CDs you have to install a new OUI 2.2 before installing the Oracle software.
Try to download/order the latest version of Oracle 9i (9.2.0.6) and install that version.
Be sure that you have install the required JRE patches for HP-UX: PHCO_23792, PHCO_24148, PHKL_25475, PHNE_23456, PHNE_24034, PHSS_24303

Cheerio,

Renarios
