topic Printing on a remote printer... in Operating System - HP-UX

Hi guys,

I'm trying to print, from an HP-UX 11.00 box, on a remote printer that is connected to a Windows 2000 professionnel workstation. When I do an lpstat <PRINTERNAME> it keep saying me that the host is down, but I can ping it. The same printer was connected to a Win NT 4 workstation before, and the NT admin told me that he shared the printer the same way on 2k than it was on NT... So I recreate the remote printer with the same remote printer name as before, but with a new host name...

What could be the problem?? I suspect win2k with the printer sharing... Should the Service For Unix on win2k be used to share this printer to my UNIX system???

Thanks
Jonathan</PRINTERNAME>

The WIn2000 system does not have printer service to Unix enabled. Without that service, remote printing from HP-UX will hang waiting for the Win2K system to respond.
