I have inherited a PowerTrust UPS with an SNMP/Web card. This UPS will power 3 x HP9000 servers. I have connected to the SNMP card via a web browser and have configured the settings but within the help section of "Registered Shutdown Clients" it says "This page will display the IP addresses for those computers running PowerTrust II UPS client software". The problem is that I have not been given the CD with this software on and occording to HP the software is now obselete. Does anybody know the replacement software for this product.
Many thanks
Powertrust II units implement shutdown by having an entry in /etc/inittab that points to configuration files called ups_conf and ups_mond in /etc

If the software you seek is freely available it will be found at http://software.hp.com

If not, you'll have to contact your HP rep and purchase it.

SEP

Actually, the ups_conf method that Steve refers to pre-dates UPS Manager II, which was designed to be network aware and capable of managing multiple servers. However, I can find no references to what replaces UPSMII. I'm afraid it sounds like your going to have to call HP.

Pete

UPS Manager II is the only software working with SNMP/Web card in PowerTrust II (LR or MR). The software was included with the UPS-es. If you loose the CD, you must contact HP for a copy.

Regards,
Zygmunt
Hi Shine,

Many thanks for the offer but I believe I am now sorted. We have managed to find the depot containing the Client software on the old server which was connected to the UPS. I have having the depot email over to me. It appears that the depot contains a /opt/powertrust2lr directory containing the following: README, pt2lrstart, pt2lrstop, and a pt2lr.msg file
