Oracle has releases that are architechure specific. Even the OS is a little different on the two platforms.

When the OS is truly unified on HP-UX 11i v3 Oracle will need some time to catch up.

Oracle compiles and links itself on install, and the code and processes are different on the two processor architectures.

I do not believe this(your proposed) setup will work. Surely you need to check with oracle if its supported or not.

SEP

Hi,
i'm sorry but i have wrong explained my question.

Data guard configuration it's with two Oracle database (primary and stand-by in same or different node ) .
My question it's if it's possible that the two database in different nodes, can be in different OS architecture(64 and 32 bit)

Thanks.
Best regards.

Hi Francesco,

It seems that's possible depending on your Oracle version (9iR2 and above).
This is called Logical standby.

cf.
