Well,

if you do not care about your working time, how about "www.openNMS.org"? Everything runs on Linux (i.e. PC, even though it is not the Windows-flavour), is Opensource, and you can configure it monitor whatever you want.
The only hindrance is, that you HAVE to do exactly that: configure everything...

Just my $0.02,
Wodisch
(who, for no particular reason, would really smile about "Operations for Windows" monitoring a single SuperDome ;-)
You want to monitor a Superdome from a PC for how many users and what they are doing? You can get Big Brother, but if you are a commercial business, then you need to Purchase a license. You are not going to be able to monitor what the users are doing without putting something on your superdome. You really should get glance/measureware and perfview to measure performance and OpenView to monitor the systems, specially when you are talking about a Superdome, which someone laid out a lot of money for.

live free or die
harry

surely if you can afford a superdome the commercial s/w to do this is affordable. you can try it all for free on 60 days trial from your installation application CD set.

John.

Look for SMS (Superdome Monitoring System) on the internet (use Google).
But remember, what do you really want:
a) Monitoring the OS ?
b) Monitoring Oracle ?
c) Monitoring users ?

My suggestion:
use BigBrother (bb4.com) and write your own scripts to fill up the msgs (faulty user processes) and procs (check if oracle is running) entities of bb.

Regards,
Ceesjan

To monitor users that are not logged in, but connected to oracle, then you can use lsof (to list open sockets) or oracle utilities to list users connected to the database and what commands they are using, BUT you have to run that on the Superdome.

live free or die
harry
