      <description>&lt;BR /&gt;im trying to set the timezone with the tztab file. &lt;BR /&gt;my $TZ is set to IST-2IDT and in my tztab there is only 2 lines&lt;BR /&gt;IST-2IDT&lt;BR /&gt;#0 11 28 03 2005 0-6 IDT-3&lt;BR /&gt;according to this tztab the line should not work because it is commented but when i do date the output is 14:00 IDT&lt;BR /&gt;why is it?? i think its suppose to be IST&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;thnx,</description>

      <description>IST ?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;What time zone is it ?&lt;BR /&gt;In my boxes that time zone is not in the /usr/lib/tztab file.</description>

      <description>Maxim,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Please check the following files:&lt;BR /&gt;/etc/TIMEZONE and /usr/lib/tztab&lt;BR /&gt;/etc/TIMEZONE should contain:&lt;BR /&gt;TZ=IST-2IDT&lt;BR /&gt;export TZ&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;tztab should contain the following:&lt;BR /&gt;0  2  01 4  2005 0-6   IDT-3&lt;BR /&gt;0  2  09 10 2005 0-6   IST-2&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;HTH</description>
