After a system-upgrade we do have a lot of problems with the SCSI-parts of our HP_UX server (see attachment).

HP already replaced disks, terminators, cables etc.

Does anyone what else can be the cause of the errors ??

Thanks

Ad Koster

hi
Make sure that the correct disk was replaced :)
In your case it is 0x06c000
I think it is c6t12d0
I also used to get this type of mesg. but after replacing the disk no more error mesg. comes.

HI, Ad

Its not too fatal, you just received a warning that the connection to your disk was temporarily lost. Either due to a faulty cable, controller or disk. Most likely the disk. LVM recovered ok.

If these errors continue (check dmesg or syslog frequently) then your disk may be on its way out and you may need a replacement. Contact HP who will want to see these SCSI errors before deciding if a replacement is needed.
Hi,

on second thought it may have to do with the timeout issue.

Increase the timeout up to the maximum of 180 seconds:
pvchange -t 180 /dev/dsk/disk_device

Also make sure that the latest SCSI/LVM patch (and its dependencies) are installed

C.

you need check your patch if it is newly enough, install new release HWE patch bundle is a simple way. Then, check scsi cable and terminator for if they are connect stable.
If above is ok, open hardware call.
