    <description>If this is an 11.X system:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# getconf KERNEL_BITS&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;It will return either 32 or 64.  Whatever number it returns is your OS "bitness".&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If this is a 10.20 or earlier system the you are running 32 bits.</description>
