Hi,

Could somebody help me with the following.
We run sybase 11.9.2 on an HP 11i server.
For a restore we have an 4 mm tape and a LTO tape.
The restore on the 4 mm the restore is quite fast. (8 Gb in about 30 minutes)
On the LTO it takes 8 times longer (about 2,5 hours)
I've read about the max block-size of 54k for sybase.
Is this the bottleneck?
And..
How can I make my restore of the LTO quicker?
Any suggestions.

kind regards,

Pim van der Meer.

hi,

we faced the same problem on our N-class server with external LTO.

but this was solved by installing some LTO Patch which was recommended by Hp.

Thanks & Regards,
Govinda G.
